Interesting Half Blood Prince facts fans must know

Young Tom Riddle’s character is played by Fiennes-Tiffin. Fiennes-Tiffin is the nephew of Ralph Fiennes who played adult Voldemort. Director David Yates said that he chose Fiennes-Tiffin because of his ability to find “the darker space” in his script reading, not because he is the nephew of Ralph Fiennes.

The release of Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince was postponed from November 2008 to July 2009.  They decided to postpone it to take advantage of the summer holidays. The studio executives received hate mails and death threats for the decision.

Ron Weasley accidentally drank poison from Slughorn, the foam in Ron’s mouth was made from egg whites. When Albus Dumbledore and Harry Potter go to recover the Horcrux locket, Dumbledore drinks the potion. That portion is made from milk by adding water to it and then using CGI.  Also, the liquid in the pensive Albus Dumbledore used to see memories is all CGI.

Ruper Grint on Quidditch- Half-Blood Prince

Rupert Grint was happy about not getting to play Quidditch in earlier movies. His butt would get sore sitting on the broom. He needed to do weeks of training to get ready for Quidditch.

Jennifer Smith played lavender brown in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. She was replaced by Jessie Cave as Lavender Brown in Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince. She beat 7000 girls in the audition to get this role.

Jim Broadbent and Warwick Davis who played Horace Slughorn and Professor Flitwick in Harry Potter have also appeared in In the Chronicles of Narnia.

Emma Watson almost left the Harry Potter movies before shooting Half-Blood Prince to focus on her studies. She changed her mind because she could not imagine anyone like Hermione Granger. Good for us!

The Dursley family is in the book but cut from the movie.  This happened a second time. The first time it was in the Goblet of Fire where the scene started with Voldemort and did not show the Dursley family.

The first wizarding world of Harry Potter Theme Park opened in 2010 after Half-Blood Prince. Currently, there are many theme parks.

Daniel Radcliffe would often arrive drunk at work. He stopped drinking entirely in 2010 and became an inspiration.

Dumbledore’s memories

The original script of Half-Blood Prince included all of Dumbledore’s memories of young Voldemort. In the final script, most of the memories were cut.

Six actors played Voldemort’s role in the entire series of Harry Potter. In Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone Richard Bremmer and Ian Hart played Voldemort.  in Chamber of Secrets Christian Coulson played Voldemort. Fiennes-Tiffin and Frank Dillane played young and teen Voldemort in Order of the Phoenix.

Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint kept laughing in the scene where Ron squeezes between Harry and Ginny breaking them up and offering them a pie. They needed to take 20 shots to get it right.

Dumbledore was gay

While reading the script of Half-Blood Prince there was a line in Dumbledore mentioning a girl, he had a crush on. At that time, she mentioned to them that Dumbledore was gay.

The scenes in the Quidditch match Where the player fell off the broom were done using a giant swing. The swing would send actors flying across the room.

In this movie, there is a full game of quidditch. In Chamber of Secrets full quidditch match was not shown.  Daniel Radcliffe says that filming quidditch matches is the worst part of acting in Harry Potter. Of course, it looks amazing in the movies but the acting is different and hard.

The film opened in 4455 Cinemas and became the largest number of Cinemas until the Twilight Saga: Eclipse surpassed it with 4468 cinemas.

Harry Potter fans were disappointed with Half-Blood Prince because it included pointless scenes and important scenes cut off.
